Above: This piece is so new to the homeowner
that we didn't even let her get the tag off it before Brett snapped a
photo! We had heard about the beautiful new dining room she
had been working on to accomodate the stunning table and chairs she had
bought from us earlier (see below). The beautiful rich red walls really
compliment the wood in this furniture. Notice how the rope edge on
the table works well with the turned columns in the marble-top credenza
she will be using as a buffet. And don't you love her mix of chair
styles? It helps to keep the room from being overly formal and just says
"come on in!"
Below: The other side of this
gorgeous dining room showing the planter set and the large wall leaf piece
also from Artifacts used to accessorize this room.

 Above: This
homeowner purchased a new credenza from us this weekend to go in her
hallway. Brett took the camera on the delivery and shot this
piece she had purchased from us earlier and was using as a flatscreen
cabinet. It worked great in her living room with functional display room
below inside the glass doors. But, when he went back to
take her some brackets for the shelves in the new piece, voila! She had
moved the new piece to the spot where the old piece was (See Below) and I
think you'll have to agree the scale of this piece works even
better. She isn't finished accessorizing but her addition of the red
encyclopedias to the center really was an excellent way to ground this
piece with the red furniture. Below:
The new home for the former tv credenza -- in the hallway where she needed
a piece of furniture!

Above: This smaller scale desk is just right for bedside in
the master bedroom and allows the homeowner a quiet place to do paperwork.
Below: Used in a dining room, this curved buffet with metal accents is a
unique alternative to a more traditional china cabinet. There is plenty of
display room for glassware and dishes and the drawers are perfect for
napkins and silverware.
Above: This armoire is working in this space for several
reasons -- first, the wood tones are similar to the floor and the wood
table to the left. Secondly, the scrolls on the door panels echo those in
the drapery behind it. And, thirdly, the black background of the door
panels works with the solid black piece to the right in the photo. The
large tray on top continues the color and feel of the drapery panels.
Below: This woven storage cube is perfect for a couch-side table. Just
enough room for a few accessories and a great place to stash pillows and
throws out of sight.

 Above: A small
painted accent table with drop-leaf end panels doesn't detract
from this homeowner's beautiful plantation shutters but
instead acts to ground them and serve as a transition between
white woodwork & built-in tv center and darker furniture
pieces in the room.
Above Left:
This black cabinet with 2 doors and 2 drawers is the balance of light
and dark needed in this bedroom. Using a piece like this instead of
a more traditional night stand can really perk up a bedroom. Above
Right: Beatifully accessorized with McCarty Pottery and an arrangement
from Tammy Hellums of CreatedDesign (in an Artifacts conainer!) this
lovely serpentine-front cherry finish chest is a great spot to drop mail
and keys out of sight in this Oxford homeowner's entryway.
Above Left: Finding the perfect proportion is so important
as this piece in a customer's den shows. The narrow width and taller
height of this metal-front credenza create the perfect balance between two
recliners. The width of the print above it, and placement of the
accessories also work to make this piece fit the spot. Above Right: The
sunny yellow in this office is a great backdrop to the rich luster of
the wood desk unit. Earth-toned accessories (atop the desk) create this
work environment from becoming too vibrant and distracting.
(Note: The desk
wasn't an Artifacts purchase, but we wanted you to see how great accents
like the plate and vase which we do carry can look with your other
purchases!) Below: A
rich citrus yellow in this homeowner's kitchen makes these gorgeous red
canisters pop. What you can't see is the stunning oil painting on the wall
to the left -- it ties the whole kitchen together with tones of lime,
lemon, and bright red. These canisters carry that color across the
breakfast area & into the kitchen area.

ABOVE LEFT:
Finding the right lamp for a room can be tricky, but this Artifacts
customer recognized the importance of a lamp with some mass for this large
sunroom with a vaulted ceiling. On the other hand, a lamp with a base too
heavy would look out of place in a room as airy as this one. These lamps
(also pictured on the right) were the perfect solution. They are large,
but with an open cut-work column base. ABOVE RIGHT: This unique accent
table is perfect beside French doors because it offers convenience without
blocking light like a cabinet might.
  ABOVE LEFT:
This distressed red-rub-over black buffet is not used in a conventional
way (in a dining room) but is the perfect piece for this spot at the base
of the stairs. The homeowner's collections join a large charger from
Artifacts in a unique and attractive display on a piece that also offers a
good bit of practical storage. ABOVE RIGHT: An accent chest with
metal-front drawers offers the perfect place for keys, purses, etc. in an
entryway. The rich red walls and stunning floors are beautifully balanced
by this rich piece. BELOW: In this lovely vaulted-ceiling living room the
homeowner felt the need for something to help balance out the large art
piece over her couch. These sconces from Artifacts worked wonderfully, and
prove that pices like this don't have to have candles or arrangements on
them -- they work perfectly fine as strong architectural elements in a
room.
BELOW RIGHT:
One of the most popular pieces we have every stocked, these beautiful
marble-topped accent chests almost always sell within a week after they
arrive! This one is used to great effect in a dining room. When not used
as a serving piece, this cabinet is accented beautifully with a striking
lamp from Artifacts. Like many of the accent pieces we carry, these are
extremly versatile. Our customers have used them in foyers, bedrooms, and
one is pictured lower on this page as a tv cabinet in a family room. One
clever customer even turned two of these into vanities! Their height and
detailed carving fit the bill for her need for a taller sink with
traditional flair.

BELOW LEFT:
A 2-door, 1-drawer accent chest with the slightest bit of decorative
painted details on the front panels works well with the traditional
furnishings in this room. A stately Artifacts lamp with a marble font
works well with the new tile flooring. These pieces, placed beside a
recliner, provide both beauty and function for the homeowner. BELOW RIGHT;
The same piece pictured at the top of the page works well as this
customer's TV cabinet. A slight modification (drilling a small hole in the
bak for wires) allowed the concealment of VCR/DVD inside the
piece.

BELOW LEFT
and RIGHT: The warm wood tones in these two pieces work well in the
entryway of this home. The attractive armoire provides the perfect place
to store linens and tabletop pieces for the adjoining dining room. The
nearby small table with decorative lamp offers a spot of colr and light
that warms up the room.
ABOVE LEFT and RIGHT: These two shots and the one below are
from the same beautiful living room and I wanted to use them to show how
well the customer worked with shapes. Face it, almost all rooms are
square or rectangular. The often have tile in squares, or hardwood in
rectangles, rugs are almost always the same. Then we place square,
rectangular pieces in them! Look what a lovely, balanced room this
homeowner has created by using two rounded petite bombe chests -- one as
an end table, the other across the room as an accent chest -- an oval
coffee table, and a round tray-top table next to the fireplace! In the
photo above right, small details like the use of the round metal piece on
the wall above the bombe is balanced by the vertical & horizontal
lines in the french door, the cross, and candleholders used on that piece.
BELOW: Notice how the small spot beside the fireplace seems to offer space
only for a small, square piece. But the round table is the perfect choice and offers the
right balance for the strong "boxy" shapes of the mantle, fireplace &
hearth.

Above: This is the chestnut entertainment center we've been
promising to show you in the homeowner's remodeled home! It has gone from
a centerpiece in her den to a unique and beautiful storage and display
piece off her kitchen. Below: Where the armoire above once sat, this traditional credenza
has been turned into a perfect media and display cabinet. The rounded side
doors really stand out after the removal of the front doors to hold media
components and pieces from the homeowners'
collections.

Below
Left: The
homeowner's rich traditional furniture and warm wall color are beautifully
accented by this unique Oriental-style bombe chest. The chest's drawer
fronts feature deep red panels with gold leaf designs and are a great
illustration of how mixing styles can work to great effect in the
home. Below
Right: A
massive faux-leather and nailhead console table witha marble top works
with delicate, ornate lamps and large scale accnet pieces. The marble's
reflective quality is perfect for use in front of this window. What a
unique way to bring the outdoors in!

Above
Left: The simple
lines of this display cabinet provide the perfect solution to a homeowner
looking for a non-traditional china display cabinet to work with her
antique pieces. The open space underneath also worked in her room to add
height and openness . Above Right: Home to several sets of goblets purchased from Artifacts,
this curio cabinet perfectly fills a niche at the base of set of stairs.
Used in a mostly casual styled den (note the natural wood panelling which
smells WONDERFUL), this piece is a good way to balance a hearth and mantle
with a slightly more formal feel.
Below
Left: A side chair
works with the homeowner's collection of stoneware jugs and offers a
classic, traditional touch (plus comfortable seating) to a den.
Below
Centert: A tall
multi-level shelf in a walnut finish with painted accents on the drawer
front and shelves was the right piece to hold a few of the homeowner's
treasured photos and collectible pottery. A tall buffet lamp from
Artifacts is the perfect topper. Below Right: The other lamp from this pair is used across the room on a
rotating accent table. The shelves on each of the four sides of the
table hold more collectible glass and pottery pieces.

Above: A grand entry in a new home is the fitting spot
for this impressive black credenza modeled on an antique piece. A
tray, lamp, and mirror from Artifacts join a beautiful arrangement from
Created Designs by Tammy Hellums to complete the decor. Below
Left: A sofa or console table with the twist of an extra level is the
perfect piece to house this homeowner's decor pieces. Below Right:
A lovely marble-top wine cabinet is accented with a pop of color
from the ceramic drip lamp and matching ceramic decorator balls.

Above: This dramatic ceramic bowl in stand is across
the room from the lamp & cabinet pictured above. Using pops of the
same color in different places in your room is an excellent way to
coordinate your decor. The homeowner found these candlesticks at a store
in Jackson and they also work well with her pieces from Artifacts.
Below: A small scale credenza in a painted finish can be the
perfect accent piece to mix with more traditional wood furniture pieces
and works well with neutral color schemes. The color in the piece can also
be picked up in accessories as this homeowner has done with the choice of
shades on the candlesticks and the beautiful glass bowl.
